Case Study: Company Staff Awards Ceremony in Birmingham
The Brief:
Paragon was set the challenge to research, organise and manage an awards ceremony for 120 guests who wanted to come together to reward their employees for their contributions after a difficult financial year.
The event was to be held in Birmingham City Centre, with facilities large enough to hold a large stage/set which was to appear ‘innovative, modern and rich’. The venue needed to provide lunch – but was not to be a hotel.
Another client suggestion was that the venue was to be near major transportation links, with its own onsite parking and disabled facilities, and needed to be spacious and atmospheric. A budget of between £15 - 17K was specified, to cover:

The Event:
The Custard Factory; easily accessible, close to major train stations and motorways, renowned for its uniqueness and versatility with a large open space, proved a fantastic choice to host this particular award ceremony.


This blank canvas was transformed using ‘Grammy’ inspired décor and fantastic contemporary AV and production to guarantee a first class event to remember!
As the main focus, the set was an integral part of the event. Paragon worked with our production partners to ensure our client's specific requirements were met within budget. This incorporated portrait style plasma screens that were used to show images and video effects of those nominees and their work and a full colour canvas print central backdrop, which featured company branding. Lighting and music was also specifically ‘arranged’ to compliment, as was the particular furniture and awards that featured on set.
The event involved and worked with so many various individuals from; contractors, suppliers, catering, audience members and nominees. It was therefore vital that the event was executed with impeccable timings and precision.
Much time and consideration was put into creating a flawless awards ceremony, ensuring guests were wowed by the aesthetics and atmosphere created as well as the meticulous precision of the event. Every minor detail was considered from the décor to the menu to the seating arrangements. Paragon managed - through years of experience and event knowledge - to ensured a first class awards ceremony was created.
